Video Pro FTW!

March 19, 2009 1:22 PM

I was just informed moments ago that a video piece I did a few months ago on a point-of-sales product won my company some new business.

Not only is this fantastic news because of the business win, but it’s fantastic for my portfolio. Hopefully this will lead to me moving to A/V services at some point in the future. :D

iPhone 3.0: The Customer Satisfaction Rollup Package

March 17, 2009 6:06 PM

Today, our favorite face in the crowd Apple announced iPhone OS 3, the next big update to the iPhone’s software. I’m not here to talk about what the new features are, and if you don’t know but want to know, you can head over to MacRumors where they’ve outlined them nicely.

I’m not going to lie, I’m getting tired of hearing Apple’s name. In my eyes, the last real “world changing” innovation they put out was the iPhone itself almost 2 years ago. Apple has become yet another face in the crowd, a hardware bump here, a software change there, no different from any other company out there at this point. More and more each day, it feels like they fall further and further behind in the amazing innovation category.

Chapter I: Inside

March 15, 2009 2:01 AM

Most of the time, I don’t make sense. I don’t fit in to any particular group. I have always been very eclectic. This seems like it’s problematic most of the time, but honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way. One day i’ll be hanging out with the biggest group of nerds you’ll meet, then the next day i’ll be with a group of “jocks” that have more homosexual drama then most of the gay people I know, which are unfortunately very few and far between.

In the news…

March 13, 2009 11:04 AM

I was in the news this morning. I was interviewed on Monday about ’survivor guilt’ at work when people get laid off. You can view the video from CBS 4 Denver here or by watching the video below.

The New(er) AirPort Extreme

March 12, 2009 3:57 PM

This past Monday I decided it was time to upgrade from my old and busted AirPort Express (the original G version) to one of the fancy new AirPort Extremes that was just recently unleashed unto the world. The reason behind this? I have several N based devices on my network now and the Express will only allow 10 devices on the network at a time. Being the techie I am, I breeched this limit a while ago and have been continuing to breech it on a near daily basis for the past couple of months. It was just time to bring in the new hotness.

For those who don’t know (because even the Apple store employee didn’t know), the new Extreme sports the following additional features:

  • Dual band wireless on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies (for those who don’t know what this means,Some Wi-Fi devices use the 2.4GHz wireless band, including iPhone, iPod touch, and devices using 802.11b/g. Other devices can use either 2.4GHz or the higher-speed 5GHz band, such as the latest 802.11n-based Mac computers and Apple TV. Instead of choosing one of the bands, AirPort Extreme now operates simultaneously on both bands, and your multiband devices automatically use the best available band. This means all your Wi-Fi devices get the fastest possible wireless performance and the best possible range.)
  • Guest Networking (a feature that allows you to set up a separate, locked down network for friends, family, basically people who aren’t you to connect to).
  • Back To My Mac support for AirPort Disk.

Join me as we look at each of these features in detail.

This week in my life…

January 23, 2009 9:45 AM

My best friend got himself into more money trouble over his damn car…
My other friend has a MILF…
And another good friend is paying a dollar a month to help save a scam artists vacation.

When it comes right down to it, I’m feeling pretty good about myself right now. :)
